Gevrey-Chambertin « En Champs »
En Champs or land that has been cultivated for many years. With its gentle “Les Champeaux” slopes facing east, it is situated within two climates that are quite similar. It would appear that several terroirs are located inside this climate. At the top there are very shallow gravely soils and at the bottom the soils are thicker and much deeper. En Champs is a typical Burgundy wine, producing grapes with small top quality berries.
Concentrated and strong aromas of morello cherry, almond and cherry stone come to the fore. The wine’s structure is imposing but it is mellowed by colourful and ample fruit. An extra 3 or 4 years ageing will result in a wine offering full satisfaction. It can be easily kept for at least 10 years.
