Fixin Champs Pennebaut

Les Champs Pennebaut, is a field bearing for a long time the name of a former owner called Pennebaut. Two types of soils exist within this tiny parcel representing 7,500 square metres – limestone scree on the upper part and clay-rich soil on the lower part.

This small recently acknowledged AOC (2004) is overshadowed by its prestigious neighbour Gevrey-Chambertin. However, when you taste it, you realise that it really is a great wine. You will rediscover the earthy side to its soils expressed by its mineral characteristics, its tight structure and its chalky finish. It is entirely coated by generous fruity flavours. The overall end result translates to a wine that is solid, fruity and refreshing.
